Mineraldle

Puzzle #18 was wöhlerite.

Wöhlerite, also known as woehlerite or wohlerite, is a member of the Wöhlerite group. It was named after German chemist Friedrich Wöhler. It was first described by Scheerer in 1843, but the crystal structure was only solved by Mellino & Merlino in 1979.

What the record says

Puzzle 18 ran on 2 Aug 2026 and the answer was wöhlerite, played with 6 guesses against 4 columns. On the record: Crystal system - monoclinic; Strunz group - silicates; Named after - person. 1 of the 4 columns is blank in the source (Elements), so nobody could score it either way.

Beyond the grid the record adds Named after - Friedrich Wöhler.
